Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about our programs, memberships, and facility.

General

Not at all. Most of our new members are complete beginners. Our curriculum is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals safely and at your own pace. You'll be paired with experienced partners who help you learn.

Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a water bottle. We provide loaner gis for BJJ and gloves for boxing. For karate, loose-fitting pants and a t‑shirt work great. We have changing rooms and showers on site.

You can book directly through the "Free Trial" button on our website, call us at (212) 744-8932, or simply drop by during operating hours. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early on your first visit.

Membership & Billing

No long-term contracts. All memberships are month‑to‑month, and you can cancel anytime with 30‑day notice. We believe our training speaks for itself.

We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as ACH bank transfers. Cash payments are not accepted for monthly memberships but are welcome for drop‑in classes and pro shop purchases.

Yes. We have a dedicated Student/Military rate at $119/month for unlimited training with valid ID. Visit us in person to verify eligibility and start.

Programs & Classes

Absolutely. Our Unlimited membership gives you access to BJJ, Boxing, Karate, and our conditioning area. Many members cross‑train for well‑rounded skills.

We have programs for ages 4 and up. Kids classes are divided into 4‑7, 8‑11, and 12‑15 age groups. Adult classes start at 16. Families often train together in separate age‑appropriate sessions.

No. Sparring and rolling are available for students who want them, but they are never mandatory. Many members enjoy the technical and fitness aspects without contact. You control your participation.

Kids Program

Safety is our top priority. All kids instructors are background‑checked, CPR‑certified, and trained in age‑appropriate teaching methods. We maintain low student‑to‑coach ratios, and our facility is cleaned multiple times daily. Parents are welcome to observe every class.

The opposite is true. We teach non‑violent conflict resolution first. Children learn that martial arts are for self‑defense and personal growth, not aggression. Our structured environment promotes respect, self‑control, and empathy.

Facility & Amenities

Yes. We have separate men's and women's locker rooms with showers, towels, and secure lockers. Bring your own lock or rent one at the front desk. Personal care products are provided.

We clean and sanitize all mats, bags, and high‑touch surfaces multiple times daily using hospital‑grade disinfectants. We enforce a strict shoe‑free policy on mats, and we ask members to wipe down equipment after use. Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the facility.
